Studying Regulations in FAMA College

 According to article 39 of FAMA College status, the Senate of the College in the session held on 14.12.2007 came out with:

                                                     STUDY REGULATIONS

I. General provisions

                                                                 Article 1

With these regulations we regulate the organizing and realizing of the studies, registration, advancing the students during their studies, assessing the work of the students, giving the grades (levels) and diplomas, giving the documents of the studies and also the other important things for realizing the basic academic studies (of the first level), master studies (second level) and also PHD studies (third level) in FAMA College (on the further text – College)

                                                                   Article 2

Studies in the College are organized and realized in accordance with the study regulations based on the European system of conveying the credits – ECTS (according to the Bologna statement and Lisbon Convention – ECTS).

                                             II. Organizing and realizing the studies

                                                                   Article 3

College, the faculties within it organize and realize the studies on the subject for which they have been licensed and accredited.

Each subject is assessed with the number of credits ECTS from the study program and the volume of the study is expressed with the sum of the credits ECTS

In accordance with ETCS the volume of the study program includes 60 credits (points) of ETCS in one study year, 30 credits (points) of ETCS in one semester.

On credit has to do with 25 hours of work by the student – 1 ETCS=25 working hours.

Study programs are divided on year study and semesters.

                                                         (Level) and Volume of Study 

                                                                    Article 4

On the first level studies: basic academic studies for obtaining the diploma, basic academic studies will least at least 3 study year, 180 points (credits) of ETCS (Bachelor) or up to the number of credits foreseen by the registered syllabus.

Studding syllabuses lasting 4 years include 240 points (credits) of ETCS.

On the second level studies: academic studies of master for obtaining the diploma, academic studies for masters last at least 2 academic years, 120 points (credits) of ETCS.

On the third level of studies: PHD academic studies for obtaining the diploma, usually lat 3 study years, 180 points (credits) of ETCS.

                                                             Article 5

The student that has passed all the exams according to the studying syllabuses and that has fulfilled all the other obligations foreseen with the status of the College will obtain the diploma for the studies and for the right level.

Except for the diploma, the additional part of the diploma will be issued also (the supplement), the aim of this supplement of diploma is to give needed data to increase the international transparency, the academic presentation and the professional knowledge of the qualification (diploma, grade, certificate etc).

                                 THE STRUCTURE OF THE SYLLABUS

                                                             Article 6

The syllabus is a group of subjects, obligated and selective subjects, with frame containment, with the gaining of which the student achieves the knowledge and the needed skills to obtain the diploma for the professional academic studies.

With the syllabus you designate:

  • -naming and aims of the syllabus
  • the type and result of the studies of the learning process
  • the academic or professional science grade
  • the conditions for registering on the syllabus
  • the list of the obligated and selective subjects, frame containment
  • the way of realizing the studies  and the needed time for realizing the different forms of studies
  • -other forms of lecturing dedicated at gaining and progressed knowledge and professional skills (seminars, debating, practice etc)
  • the value of the points (credits) of each subject expressed in accordance with the European system of conveying the credits (on the further text ECTS points)
  • the number of hours for the individual student for each subject
  • the value on the credit of the final project, explained in ETCS
  • preconditions for registering the concrete subjects or the group of the subjects
  • the way of selecting the subjects from the other studying programs
  • conditions for passing from other syllabuses in cadres of the same or similar subjects
  • -other important subjects for realizing the syllabuses

    The final projects on the studies of the second level are valued at maximum 20 points, while the studies of the third level with 60 points.

                                              The Structure of subject’s syllabus

                                                                      Article 7

    The syllabus of the subjects in cadres of the studying program contains these data:

  • the name of the subjects and their digit
  • the length of the lectures
  • years of studies (semesters, number of hours)
  • the status of the subjects (obligated and selective)
  • conditioning with other subjects that have to be passed prior
  • specified aims that are realized and competences that are won by studying the concrete subject
  • language of the studies
  • that prior knowledge that the student has to have
  • appointing the professor and his/her assistant
  • the method of lecturing and gaining the containment of the subject
  • containment of the subject (short description of the subject’s program and the number of weekly hours and the total number of weeks of the activity that makes it easier for the student to understand the containment)
  • the assignment of the student (on weeks and years), the fond of hours and credits of ETCS
  • the texts needed to be used (necessary) for preparing and recommendation of the wider professional texts
  • the method (form) of knowledge verification  during the lecturing and their density and the assessment of practical work and the other forms of individual work (projects, seminars etc) the method and the timing of the exams
  • the results of the subject’s study
  • specific signs for the subject

                                                   The academic year and the semesters

                                                                             Article 8

    The academic year has 30 weeks of study. The academic year is organized in two semesters:

  • winter semester
  • summer semester

    The winter semester starts on 1st October and ends on 15th February of the next calendar year.

    The summer semester starts on 16th February and ends on 30th September.

    Realizing the study program (lectures) on one semester takes 15 weeks.

    The lectures on the winter semester start on 1st of October and end on 15th January.

    The lectures on the summer semester start on 16th February and end on 31st of May. 

                                                   The terms and the dates of exams

                                                                       Article 9

    The terms of the exams are: regular terms and extraordinary terms.

    On the regular terms are; the January term, the June term, the September term while the extraordinary terms are; April term and November term.

                                                          Organizing the lectures

                                                                       Article 10

    The exact calendar of organizing and realizing the syllabus for the academic year is made by the Senate of the College, at least 15 days before the beginning of the lectures.

    The studying is organized and realized according to the designated schedule. The College is obligated to publicize the lecture’s schedule 5 days before the beginning of the lectures.

    The schedule of the lectures contains:

  • -name of the studies program
  • year of the study
  • -name of the subject
  • time (day, time) of the lecture
  • place (hall, laboratory) where the lecture is going to be held
  • -name of the lectures

                                                                       Article 11  

    For each subject the professor of the subject designates the plan of the work and has the duty to hand it over at least 15 days before the lecture begins.

    The professor of the subject is obligated on the first lecture to inform the students with the plan of the work on his subject. The students have the right on the extract from the work plan in a written form.

    After the designation of the work plan we should be aware not to make the same date for tests and final exams, so it is not possible to organize at the same date 2 test and 2 exams and for this dean of the faculty will be aware.

    Tests and other types of verification of the knowledge will be organized on the designated dates for lecture foreseen previously.

    The duties foreseen for individual work of the student (seminars, home work, graphic duties, projects etc) should be spread in an equal way during the semester. The overall volume of these duties should fit with the foreseen load for the subject, in accordance with the regulations of ETCS.

    During the lecture the professor is obligated, finishing the self supported duties and preparing to pas the exam, to help the student by organizing consulting. 

    The date and time for consulting should be coordinated with the lecture so that they will be accessible for all the students.

    As a rule it is not allowed to change the schedule of the lecture and the working plan. If necessary to make a change (for medical reasons of the professor etc) the dean of the faculty will appoint the deputy.

                                                                 Article 12

    The lecture is organized and realized for minimum of 5 students on the math subjects, respectively for minimum of 10 students on the subjects of social science.

    With the decision of the Senate of College the study can be organized as mentor for even less students. With this decision it is specified the load of the professor for the mentor study.

                                                                Article 13

    The College, respectively the faculty in its containment, can organize the study program with distance learning (in distance).

    Special methods (forms) of study can be organized in the form of “distance learning”.

    The exams for the distance learning will be organized in the residency of the high education institution.

    Working practice and professional practice can be organized and applied as containment part of the regular study or as self supporting in total.

                                           Introduction of the subjects and evidence     

                                                                 Article 14

    With the study program it is foreseen that which the obligated subject are for the designated study year.

    When registering year the student decides for the selective subjects that he would want to attend and pass on the coming studying year three weeks before starting the lessons but for the first year after the registering.

    The selection of the subjects is done with the load of 30 points ECTS for semester and 60 points ECTS for the studying year, except for the specific cases different from these regulations.

    After the deadline expires for selecting the subjects the list of the students are formed according to the subjects for the coming study year and they are publicized on the board of announcements for each study program and subject. The subjects selected by the student cannot be changed after they are verified.

    The data over the presented load are put in the evidence card of the student.                                            

                                                  Introducing again the subjects

    Article 15

    The student can apply for attending the subjects that have not passed from the previous year, also the subjects from the coming year for which he has fulfilled the conditions foreseen by the studying program.

    The student that has not passed the obligated subject will have to attend again the lecture from the same subject.

    The student that doesn’t pass the selective subject can apply again to attend the lecture from the same subject or to choose another selective subject.

    The load from the repeated subject for the regular student can be at most 1/3 of the general number of points ECTS of the study year.

    In case of change of study program or subject, the student that repeats the lecture is obligated to accept the changes.

                                                 Verification of the semester and year

    Article 16

    On the end of the semester and study year, the evidence card of the student if verified with the registration number of ECTS points gained from the semester and in general.

    Verification of the semester and year is obligated for all the students.

    According to the verified semester and year it is concluded that how many ECTS points has won the student.

                                                       Evaluation of the study (lecture)

    Article 17

    The successful attendance of the lecture is done through student surveys.

    The survey is anonymous.

    Dean is responsible for applying the survey. On applying the survey can be involved also the professors, cooperators and students that are appointed by the dean and the assembly of the students.

    The survey is applied after the end of the semester.

    Decision for the survey, date of appliance, containment and the way of putting the survey and also directives for the appliance of it are taken from the Senate of the College.

    The appointed professor for the first time on academic name and also the lecture that he presents for the first time has the right that the details from the lecture not to be placed in his file.

    The dean of the faculty has the duty to call the professor whose grades are under average, to inform him about the lacking and to give advises (recommendations) for removing him.                                             

                              III Registration and Advancing during the studies

     

                                                    Student’s status

    Article 18

    The status of a student is won after registering in the study program that is organized in the College, in the unit of high education.

    The student will register in the status of the student who finances by him self.

    The student can register also with the status of being financed from the budget of the College if the Senate of the College takes such a decision.

    Article 19

    When registering in the study year the student declares himself for the part of the program in volume of 30 points of ECTS for semester, 60 points of ESBK for one study year.

    Excluding, the student that has finished all his obligations from the previous year, the student can register 80 points of ECTS. The students with the permit of the dean can use this right after the first year of study.

    Article 20

    The status of the student can be kept until the day of obtaining the diploma of the registered study program.

    The status of the student is recognized also for the student with Kosovo citizenship that transfers from the other College, if the student fulfills the foreseen criteria for this status. In such cases the study time in the other College will be counted in the general study time.

    Article 21

    With the proposal of the faculties, the Senate of the College can decide about the number of the students, which will register on the first year that will be organized in the College, in the unit for high education.

    Article 22

    With the proposal of the faculties, the Senate will take the decision for announcing the vacancy for registering on the studies the latest on the 25th April for the coming study year.

    The announced vacancy contains:

  • The number of students for each studying program that is organized in the College
  • Conditions for registration
  • Criteria for designated alignment of the candidates for registration
  • The procedure of applying the vacancy
  • Method and term for appealing against the designated alignment of the registering candidates
  • The level of payment for registration

                                       Conditions for registering on the basic studies

    Article 23

    The student that can register on the first year of the basic studies is the person that:

  • That has finished secondary school, whereas for the basic academic studies the person that has finished secondary four year school.
  • According to the assessment of the Study Council the entry exam can be held, respectively for verifying the skills and the advantages, in agreement with the decision of the Senate, according to the decision of the faculties.

    The entry exam includes program containment learned during secondary school on the field where the candidate applies.

    Similar faculties can hold joint entry exams.

                                                                   Article 24

    Alignment of the candidates for registering on the first year of the first level studies is based on the success achieved on the secondary schools or the result achieved on the entry exam, respectively on the exam for verifying the skills and advantages.

    The list is made based on the general number of the points of each candidate according to the designated criteria. The candidate can get maximum 100 points.

    With the general success on the secondary school, it means the sum of grades from all the subject from first class, second, third and forth multiplied with two (2).

    Based on this the candidate can get minimum 16 and maximum 40 points.

    The general success on the secondary school is calculated by rounding them on decimals. The result achieved by the candidate on the entry exam can be assessed from 0 – 60 points.

    The faculty makes the unique list of all the candidates with the general number of points won based on all the designated criteria in this regulation.

    The participator in this vacancy that thinks that the unique list was not based on the designated criteria in this regulation, he/she can file a turndown at the dean of the faculty in which he has applied within the deadline of 24 hours from the moment when the list is announced.

    The dean of the faculty will decide over the turndown in 24 hours from the moment when it was filed. The unsatisfied candidate with the decision of the dean can appeal against him which will be sent to the Science-study Council within the deadline of 3 days from the day when the decision of the dean is handed over to the candidate. The study-science council will decide about the appeal within the deadline of 3 days.

    After placing according to the advantages, respectively appeals filed, the faculty will make and publicize the definitive list of all the candidates with all the number of the points won according to the foreseen criteria with this regulation.

    Definitive list is a base for the registration of the students on the first study year.

    Article 25

    If the candidate that has won the right for registration through the vacancy doesn’t register within the deadline, then the faculty will register the other candidate instead of him/her, according to the definitive list within the deadline foreseen with the vacancy.

    Article 26

    The minority members of the Albanian ethnicity living in the neighboring countries can study in our College on the same conditions as the citizen of Kosovo.

    Article 27

    The candidate that has passed the general final exam will not take the entry exam. In stead of the entry exam, the result of the final exam will be taken into consideration. Based on this the faculty will make the list of the candidates who applied with their final exam. The candidate that is listed as a student will win the right of registration according to article 21 of this regulation.

    Article 28

    On the basic studies, without taking the entry exam can register:

  • the person that has finished high education of the first level
  • the person that has finished the first year on another faculty with 60 points
  • the person that has won the status of the student and that has 60 points

    The right on registration through this article is done with the special request of the mentioned persons. The science-study council of the faculty will decide for recognizing the passed exams, respectively the points won during the previous studies.

                         Conditions for registration on academic studies (master)

    Article 29

    On the first year of academic studies (master) can register the person that has finished the basic academic studies by realizing:

  • at least 180 points ECTS – if the academic studies (master) have 120 points ECTS
  • at least 240 points ECTS if the academic studies (master) have 60 points ECTS

    With the study program of the master study is foreseen the basic academic studies from item 1 of this article.

    The alignment of the candidates for registration on the first year of master studies is designated based on the average of the general grades realized on basic studies.

                                    Conditions for registering on PHD studies       

    Article 30

    The student that wants to register on PHD studies has to fulfill conditions:

  • Finished master studies with at least 300 points of ECTS and the average grade should be minimum 8.00 on the basic academic studies and in master studies.
  • Finished master studies with at least 300 points of ESBK and science work realized on a designated method with the general act of the faculty, or
  • The master level of the science in accordance with the law.

    On the program of PHD studies are foreseen master studies, respectively science field of PHD from which the master academic level was won from item 1.

    The part of the study program of the academic specialized studies will be recognized for the PHD studies with a decision of the Senate of College.

    The alignment of the candidates for registration on the first year of PHD studies is made based on the general average grade realized during the basic studies and master studies as well as realized science results.

    Article 31

    The foreign citizen can register for PHD studies under the same conditions as the citizen of Kosovo.

    The person from item 1 of this article can register on the studies if he knows the language on which the lecture is held.

                                                    Mobility in the College

    Article 32

     

    The right to change from academic studies to professional studies can be given to the student, respectively from one study program to the other, under designated conditions made by the senate of the College, according to the proposal of the science-study council of the faculty. This can be done before starting the realizing of the lectures, alongside with the request and the documentation over the successes from the previous studies.

    The time of studies on the study program from which is transferred will be counted on the general study time.

    Article 33

    The student that has passed the exam on the program or study institution, the exam will be recognized if the subject (science subject) that the student has passed corresponds with the containment and volume of the subject that the student has registered, which is

    proven with documentation with which is foreseen with the regulations of ECTS. This will be assessed from the Science study Council of the designated faculty.

    If the subject, the exam of which, the student has passed is approximately the same with the subject that the student has registered, the professor will recognize the exam if he assess that the student has gained the needed knowledge and skills.

    With the recognition of the exam also the grade will be recognized. The number of the points from the recognized exam will be in accordance with the regulations of ECTS.

                                                 Mobility between the universities 

    Article 34

    The student has the right to spend some certain time (semester or study year) in another high education institution or in another country, with the mediation of international programs for exchange students (Socrates, Erasmus, DAAD etc), or based on the bilateral agreement between the universities.

    In accordance with the agreement which the student makes with the College, the collected points will be recognized.

    The exchange student doesn’t mean giving the diploma, respectively achieving the grade (level) in the College that he will be attending, if the contract between the universities was not regulated for giving joint diplomas, respectively recognizing the grade (level).

    Article 35

    Alongside the request for remaining in the institution of the high education, the original documents are presented foreseen with ECTS for changing the place of study:

  • form for presenting the student in the other institution of high education (request form for registration of the student)
  • the contract for studying in the other high education institution
  • presentation of the grades
  • information package

    Forms of the documents from item 1of these articles are printed alongside of this regulation and they contain parts of it.

    Duties linked with the administrative and academic aspects of ECTS (informing the students, help in preparation of documents, communication between the mother College and the institution, help for incorporating the guest student in the study program) are done by the coordinator of ECTS of the study programs in the College unit.

    Article 36

    The student that has attended another College can come back to the study program of the College where he started the studies. Provisions of this regulation are applied on his status.

                                                 Changing the student’s status 

    Article 37

    The student cannot get financed at the same time for two study programs organized by the College.

    The student that has registered the first year of studies and that is being financed from the budget of the College and that during the studies he has achieved the average grade of 9.5 and has won 60 points, in this case the student will win the status of being financed also for the coming study year.

    From item 2 of this article, the student that realizes less than 60 points of ECTS or that his average grade is less than 9.5, he/she can continue the studies with self financing.

     

    Article 38

    The self financing student that has achieved during the study year 60 points of ECTS and that has the average grade 9.5 can change the status of the student that gets financed from the budget of the College for the next coming year.

    The Senate of the College decides the number of the students that get financed from the College budget for each faculty for each year.

    The decision for changing the status of the student from self-financing to financing from the budget of the College is brought by the senate.

    The student looses this right if during the study year that he has registered as a student financed from the budget of the College, didn’t score 60 points of ESBK on the study program for which he registered and if he did not achieve the average grade of at least 9.50.

                                              Suspension of the student’s status

    Article 39

    The rights and the obligations of the student can be suspended. After the end of the couse from which the suspension was requested, the student continues the studies according to the in power study program and according to the conditions for study.

    Article 40

    The rights and the obligations are suspended:

  • during the time of military service
  • during the pregnancy of the student until the born child is one year old
  • because of the hospital service, at least ones during a semester (that is verified through the hospital certificate)
  • If the student is sent to the professional internship with the lasting at least 6 months
  • If the student registers on the same study program outside the country, according to the foreseen procedure with the regulation of ECTS for registering on the other College
  • For other personal reasons.

    The request for suspending the rights and obligations is presented before causing the suspension and after registering the study year in which this right will be used.

    Excluding the request for suspension based on the hospital treatment or pregnancy can be presented during the study year. The ruling for suspension of the rights and obligations is given by the dean of the faculty.

     

                                                Canceling student’s status

    Article 41

    The student’s status ends in case of:

  • withdrawing from studies
  • finishing the studies
  • -not registering the new study year
  • when the student doesn’t finish the studies after the expiration of the deadline that is foreseen with the double number of the necessary study years for realizing the study program.
  • Applying the disciplinary measures by excluding the student from the studies

     

    Article 42

    Based on the personal request of the student, the Senate of the College can decide to extend the studies of the student.

                          IV. ASSESSMENT OF THE WORK WITH THE STUDENTS                

                                                Observation of student’s work

    Article 43

    The success and the work of students in learning the subjects is observed continuously during the lecture and it is expressed through the points.

    By fulfilling the obligations before the exam and with the passing of the exam, the student can realize maximum 100 points.

    Through the studies program, the report of the points won is made in link with obligations before the exam and during the exam.

    In the general number of point’s structure, minimum 30 and maximum 70 points, it should be foreseen for the activities and verifications of the knowledge during the semester (obligations before the exam).

    The subject’s professor is obligated that on the first hour of the lecture to inform the students with the structure of the general number of the points and also the method of observing their work, then through the dates of the verification of the knowledge,

    respectively with the obligations before the exam also with the character and containment of the final exam.

    Test and exams are organized on regular and correctional basis.

    The dates of the tests are organized on dates foreseen for lectures.

    Points are given to the student for each form for the verification of the work and knowledge. The professor is obligated that publicly to communicate the result to the students, respectively the number of points won after each verification and the general number of points that the student has won from the beginning of the lectures.

                                                                 Exam

    Article 44

    The subject’s professor is obligated that on the first hour of the lecture to inform the students with the way of passing the exam (on written way, orally, on written way orally and practically) and on the dates that the exam is organized (basic and correctional).

    The exam on the point’s structure can be assessed with maximum 70% of the points of overall.

    The student will be examined on the designated subject immediately after finishing the lectures from this subject.

    The exam can be taken by the student that has fulfilled obligation previously made by the plan of realizing the lectures.

    The exams can be practical and theoretical, they can be passed in accordance with the program of the studies only in a written way, only orally, or written and orally.

    The exams of distance learning are organized in the building of the faculty.

                                                         Dates of the exams                                    

    Article 45

    The dates of the exams are: in January, April, June, September and in November.

    The dates of the exams are announced two weeks before the exams and it is a part of the plan for applying the lectures (learning).

     

                                               The methods of passing the exam

    Article 46

    All the exams and methods for verifying the knowledge are public.

    If the exam is organized orally then the professor has to make it possible for the students to present on the exam. The exams taken orally necessarily except for the candidate and the professor, at least another person from the group of students and professors have to take part.

    Is the exam is organized on the written way and then the professor on the beginning of the exam informs the students that which helping tools he can use during the exam.

                                                                 Grading

    Article 47

    After finishing the lectures and exams the professor will make the overall number of points won and makes the final grade for each student.

    The general number of the points and the final grade the professor incorporates in the records on the organizing the exam.

    The success of the student in exam is expressed with the grade from number five (5) up to ten (10) and that:

    The marks with which you pass the exam are: 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 and according to the level of ECTS have this meaning:

    Mark 10 (excluding) is given to the student that:

  • can answer all the questions and shows excellent knowledge
  • gives wide answers with clear differentiation of that what is basic from the containment what is secondary and additional.
  • Understands the concepts in an excellent way, containments and techniques
  • Can overtake and understand the problems with which the subject deals with and has the capabilities that through the critics solve them and gives creative solutions, links containments and relations of the concrete subject with similar subjects  from the same or similar science field
  • Actively has taken part in tests and exercise

    For the mark 6 (six) enough, has to:

  • the student should be able to answer the questions and to show basic knowledge
  • to understand the basic concepts and the containment of the subject

    Mark 5 (five) not enough is giving to the student when:

  • doesn’t know the answers to the questions
  • doesn’t understand the basic concepts and the containment of the subject.

     

     

     

     

    Article 48

     

    During the marking the general number of points is taken into consideration that the student has won during the lessons.

    Article 49

    The College, respectively the faculty in its containment, has the duty to register all the passed exams, respectively records during the exams (which are regulated with the regulation over the containment and method of how to keep notes in the high education institution).

    In the index of the student and in the registry book of the students, the mark from passing the exam is notes, but the mark 5 (five) it is written only on the records kept during the exams.

    Article 50

    The student doesn’t pass the exam if he didn’t fulfill at least the minimum foreseen points.

    Article 51

    The professor is obligated to communicate the result of the exam, if the exam was orally, immediately after the exam (if he passed the exam or not) and concerning the definitive mark he has to communicate it on the deadline of 2 (two) days after the exam.

    The results and the definitive mark from the written exam should be publicized in a deadline of 7 days from the day when the exam was held, by announcing them on the table or in another suitable way.

    Article 52

    If the student was graded with grade 5 (five), not enough, then the professor is obligated, according to the request of the student to inform him/her about the lack of work during the first consult after the announcement of the exam result.

    Article 53

    Putting the mark on the index (student’s calendar) is doing according to the foreseen date, after the result is communicated of the held exam.

                                                   Refusing the grade

    Article 54

    The student has the right to file his turndown in front of the competent institution of the faculty against the grade won during the exam if the student thinks that he was harmed during the process of grading. He has to file his turndown on a deadline of 36 days after the grade was communicated to him.

    The dean reviews the turndown and in a deadline of 24 hours, from the moment that the turndown was filed, has to give his decision.

    If the dean approves student’s turndown then the dean is obligated to inform the professor and the student over his decision. In the given decision it has to be specified the repeating of the exam within the deadline of 3 (three) days from the day when the decision is brought in front of the questioning commission.

    The questioning commission is appointed by the dean and it is made of the professor of the subject and 2 (two) professors from the same or similar subject. The professor of the subject cannot be the chair person of the commission. The commission decides with majority of the votes. The decision of the commission is definitive.

                                                     Passing again the exam

    Article 55

    If the student is not satisfied with the result that has achieved in the exam, he has the right to take the exam again during the current study year. This right can be used by the student only ones in the same subject.

    With the applying and taking again the same exam, the mark from the first time of taking the exam will be suspended.

    The mark gained from the repeated exam will be considered definitive.

    If the professor is obstructing the exam which is supposed to be held on the designated date, the organization and the containment of the exam will be trusted to some other professor from the same or similar subject, or by the commission which will be appointed by the dean of the faculty.

    The commission has at least three members. Professors from the same or similar subject can be appointed in the commission. The grade given by the appointed commission is definitive.

    For the communication of the grade given by the commission for the oral or written exam is applied in the same was according to the article 51 of this regulation.

                                                Consequents of not passing the exam  

    Article 57

    The student can only take the exam from one subject only 3 times.

    Excluding, the student that has only one exam left from the study program has the right to take that exam during the additional dates until the beginning of the new study year.

    The student that doesn’t pass the exam from the obligated subject until the beginning of the coming study year, the student is obligated to register again for the same subject.

    The student that doesn’t pass the selective subject, he/she can register again the same subject or to declare himself for another subject (after one year).

                         Registering on the study year in higher level of studies

    Article 58

     

    The student wins the right to register on the higher year of studies under the conditions foreseen with the status of the College, after he fulfills all the study obligations expressed with ESBK points that he scored with the registration on the previous year.

    The student that didn’t fulfill these obligations from the above item can continue the studies so he has to register again these obligations that he did not fulfill during the previous year, under the conditions and methods foreseen with this regulation.

                                                             Article 59

    Every year that the student registers has to declare which subjects he/she wants to take from the study program, in which case the student should register only those subjects for which he/she has fulfilled the precondition according to the program and plan of the studies.

    The program and the plan of study can get based on the registration of the semester, in stead of year registration.

                                                             Article 60

     

    The opportunity for registering more then 60 ECTS points can be given to successful students, maximum 80 ECTS points, so that they can finish quicker the studies.

                                        Final project in bachelor studies

                                                          Article 61

     

    The final project contains personal professional elaboration of the specific problem. With the final project the student test himself about the knowledge that he gained during the studies, that the subject that he passed with the foreseen methodology, that he can use professional literature and professional terminology and how to quote it in a regular way.

    The chosen subject for the final project, is chosen by the subjects from the study program.

    Possible subjects for the final project are chosen by the professors of the subjects.

    Excluding, it can be allowed to the student to take the subject for the final project in consult with the professor of the subject.

    Alongside of every final project must present also the basic literature.

                                                            Article 62

    The final project has to be filed at the student’s service. The student has the right to present the subject of the final project when the load from the subject and the load foreseen based on the final project doesn’t exceed 6 points of ECTS.

    The paper form for presenting the final project contains these details:

  • working name of the subject
  • subject
  • day when it was filed and the signature of the mentor

    Presentation of the final project in the studies of the second and third level is done according to the advisory for presenting the subject.

    One exemplar of the filled and signed paper form is verified and gets deposited in the student’s file while the other one is sent to the study and science Council of the faculty.

                                                                Article 63

    The student of the basic studies can only change once the subject of the final project and that latest 30 days from the day when the first subject is approved.

    The professor of the subject has the duty to observe the work of the student on the subject, to help him with advises and to instruct him on literature.

                                                                Article 64

    The student of the basic studies drafts the final project in concept with all the belonging parts. The concept is handed over to the mentor for reviewing and checking. The student is obligated to act according to the advices and remarks of the professor. Otherwise the project will be sent back for further development.

    The professor is obligated to check the project and to return it back with comments latest in three days from the day when the project was handed over.

                                                                Article 65

    The student of the basic studies hands over 3 exemplars of the final project at the student’s service in the College.

    After handing over the project in the right numbers, in accordance with mentor’s proposal, the dean appoints the commission and the date for public presentation of the project. The commission is made of: mentor, chair person and one professor.

    The details for the public presentation of the final project are presented on the announcing table of the faculty. From the day when it is handed over until the day of its presentation have to pass at least 5 days.

    The procedure for approving the public presentation of the final project on the second and third level studies is regulated with a specific act which is part of this regulation.                                                        

                                                             Article 66

    The cover of the final project contains this text:

  • On top; FAMA COLLEGE in Prishtina, faculty, place.
  • On the middle; name and surname of the student, title of the project
  • By the end; place, year

    First page:

  • -on top; FAMA COLLEGE, faculty
  • -on the middle; title of the project one line below (left): subject, name and surname of the mentor. One line below (right side): name and surname of the student
  • in the end; place, month, year

    The containment of the project is explained on chapters:

  • 1 – entry
  • 2 – containment
  • 3 – text of the project, divided on logical sub-chapters. Conclusions are given at the end of the project, the register of the literature and sources in accordance with the approved standard, records of supplements, tables, photos, diagrams, etc.

    The presentation of the final project for the basic studies is made of oral explanations of the results from the project and reasoning the specific conclusions, also from answering the questions made by the members of the commission in connection with the results of the project and conclusions.

    If the student doesn’t satisfy during the presentation of the final project, he has the right make a request for choosing a new topic in the cadre of the same subject or for another subject.

    1. DOCUMENTS FOR STUDYING

                                                                     Diploma  

                                                                    Article 68

       

      The diploma for the first level of high education (bachelor) and the diploma for the second level will be signed by the dean of the faculty and the rector.

      The additional diploma will be signed by the dean of the faculty and the rector.

      The diploma will be handed over in a solemn event. The event is a solemn act of:

  • handing over the diploma for finishing the studies of the first and second level, which will be done by the dean of the faculty
  • announcing the person which fulfills the conditions for PHD by the law and that presents the dissertation of the PHD
  • giving the PHD which is done by the rector.                                                

                                                    Other documents

                                                         Article 69

    The College, respectively the faculty will issue to each student the students index (students calendar).

    The College, respectively the faculty will issue to each student the identification card as a proof that the person is registered as a student and that has the right to:

  • enter in all the College buildings in which the study programs are developing
  • usage of the library, computers hall
  • access to all sports buildings and other College buildings,

With the request of the student, other documents will be issued over the studies with which all the status right are verified during the studies.

All the claims and requests made by the students are made in a written way at the student’s service in the College.

                           VI. THE LAST AND TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS

                                              Application of the regulation

Article 70

Provisions of this regulation will apply for the generation of students that registered their first study year on 2008/2009.

Provisions of this regulation, in an adjusted way, will apply also for the students that are registered before the study year of 2008/2009

This regulation enters into power 8 days after it is announced in the table for announcements of the College.
